Friday- woot, woot!

Hey! Finally…a week that flew by (it’s been awhile since I’ve had a quick week, I guess)…here are the five:

1. Last weekend my mom and I drove over to Kittitas to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins…I make the trip over every couple of months, but this visit was a special one…it was prom for the two older boys…and more specifically, SENIOR prom for Zach. Oh my gosh…I can’t believe Zach is graduating from high school. I have so many memories of that kid growing up… I fully remember my first actual conversation with him- when he was first putting together sentences…he is still the only kid, with all the babysitting I’ve done, that I have ever had to call poison control for… I remember when he learned how to use scissors at school and cut holes in his shirt and told his mom he ran into a tree branch…I mean, how is he possibly a graduating? Anyway…this wasn’t supposed to be an “I’m so old” point…just that the boys were very handsome in their tuxes and their dates were lovely…and it was fun to be there and take so many pictures! when I go home this weekend, I'll try to remember to post some pics!

2. Well, I started the moving process on Sunday, from my old apartment to the new…I have not been super productive. Sunday my dad and brother came up with a couch and chair, and helped me move my bedroom furniture…and that is about as far as I’ve gotten all week. I finally brought the shower curtain over last night…I’m pretty much still living out of an overnight bag. There will be some serious progress made this weekend though. My mom and I are going to spend some time sorting through my storage unit, and I will get all the STUFF to the new place. Organizing the stuff is going to take some time though. I have been staying at the new place all week, but it definitely doesn’t feel homey yet…it was super cool this morning, when I was walking out front, getting ready to head to work, there were lots of animal sounds coming from the zoo! Exciting…they were all getting up and saying good morning!

3. I went to a super great show on Tuesday- finally saw the Fleet Foxes…I feel like I bought the tickets to the show YEARS ago. I haven’t ever seen them, but do really like them…and it was really just so good! They are such a tight sounding band…it never sounds like individuals, but like they just pushed play somewhere and one sound comes out. There was a ton of time spent on tuning guitars, which was only slightly annoying (I mean, they literally could have played at least 3-4 more songs in the time that was spent tuning), but I suppose that is why the songs sound so amazing, right? Can’t complain too much. It was also very cool to see them at the Moore…pretty small venue.

4. Yesterday was the first Thursday of the month, which means free museum days, so Brian and I decided to be super classy and cultured and went to the Seattle Art Museum. They just opened a new exhibit of Nick Cave (not the musician)…Meet me at the Center of the Earth. He created these ‘sound suits’, which are these costumes put together with re-used…stuff. There were suits made from doilies, buttons, sweaters, etc…they were all super colorful and whimsical. They also had a big parade out front of the museum, where people came dressed up in their own ‘sound suits’, and walked together, lead by a marching band, along 1st avenue. It was quite a sight!!

5. Well, I am currently waiting for my lunch to get delivered and I am starving…all I can think about at the moment is my Red Mill chicken verde burger…ohhh, is it going to be delicious. AND, as if Red Mill on a work day isn’t exciting enough, we get to have treats today for my birthday! Yes! Okay, it should be here at any second…good bye for now!
