We have a dishwasher...

Bah, I haven’t blogged in awhile. I’ve been busy, of course, but it is actually because I haven’t had my computer with me at all. I don’t have internet at the new house yet, and with the addition of the smart phone in my life, sometimes being on a computer isn’t a priority.

Anyway…

I just had my basketball banquet on Wednesday night. As much as I enjoy coaching, usually by the time the banquet rolls around, I am ready for the season to be over…but I was really sad to have this season end. Partly because this is the second year I have coached about half of the girls- and they will be moving on from Boys & Girls Club ball next year- playing for their schools (there was some hugging with parents)…and partially because this season was just so fun. I mean, the girls were awesome. Like, the refs telling the scorekeeper to stop keeping our score because we were so far ahead awesome. And just such great attitudes and positive teamwork…high fives on the court, encouraging each other. They were just a really great group…I’m sad to see them move along to middle school. But the parents told me they would email me the basketball schedule for their school next year...so hopefully I will be able to make it to a game or two.

Still moving stuff to the new house. We finished painting the living room (!!), and Brian spent all day last weekend moving stuff with his dad, so we actually have a living room set up now. It won’t be the final set up, we don’t have the couch we are planning to have, or the rug, or the side tables, etc. There is still so much STUFF everywhere…but it is so nice to have an area that we can just hang out in now. It’s feeling like a home! Here is one of the highlights of the house…I realize if you have had a dishwasher for a while, it might be easy to take for granted…so you may not understand the thrill Brian and I feel as we load our dishwasher…but let me tell you- THRILL!

I went down to stay at my mom’s last weekend (for a bridal shower that she and my aunt threw for me), and since I had a short day of work on Friday, I decided to take the train down to Sumner and have her pick me up. I forgot how much I LOVE the Sounder train. It almost makes me want to live out of the city just so I can take the train in to work! Not really, but a little bit. It is so easy and fast, and for some reason, public transportation makes me feel super independent…I wish we had that kind of thing everywhere in the area…sigh, to not have/need a car would be magical.

Speaking of Sounder…the Sounders season started! Ahhh, so excited for the season. I am doing the half season again, though we are sitting in a different spot this year, with some friends…under cover (yes!). First game wasn’t so great, but we have some new players that I am excited about…and I just love the energy at every game.

After my several months of crazy anxiety and ickiness, I am finally feeling back to my regular self again. Which has been awesome. I’m not sure what the change was…maybe just because a lot of the ‘up in the air’ stuff has started coming together…nanny job has become pretty enjoyable (tough going with the toddler for a bit there, but something clicked in the last month and we are BFFs now- she actually told her dad this morning on the way to pre-school that 'Eryn is my best friend'...heart melt.), finally have a place to put my stuff and feel comfortable at home, wedding plans are more real (I mean 3.5 weeks people)…our engagement class has been pretty helpful- having a set time each week to talk about important marriage ‘stuff’….everything just feels good. I’m happy.

I probably should be a little more stressed out about the wedding (again, less than 4 weeks out)…I have broken out a little, and have a canker sore…so maybe there is a little stress in there somewhere…but I’m really feeling pretty good about it. Lots of lists being made, and checkmarks after them. I’m probably forgetting something huge…but for now…feeling good.

Have a great weekend!
